The Bible is often viewed as a book of rules or a book of history or even a book of fiction.
It is often dismissed and seen as being irrelevant for our modern world.
But this is not a fair representation of the Bible, and as someone once said, reading and judging the Bible when you are not a Christian, is like reading someone else's mail.
The Bible is for Christians, and contains God's message for God's children. It is words inspired by God to help Christians as they follow Jesus. It is the basis of our faith and both the Old Testament and the New Testament inform what we believe. Reading it either on our own or in a larger group is important and helps to strengthen our faith.
As well as reading the Bible, Christians need to pray to God.
